Allow everything to be made new through your own rebirth. Allow yourself to forget who you believe yourself to be, and release attachment to the ideas that have built you into the person you have been. As you become new, you will automatically allow yourself to encounter everyone as new in this moment. Learn who your loved ones are NOW, by releasing attachment to who they were yesterday. <p>In this edition: Grateful for you * TONIGHT, I'm on Layla's show.</p>

<p>Hey love,</p>

<p>It's my birthday. Tomorrow, May 23, I will be turning 37. I'm having a hard time not making a comparison to my marker for "the Best Birthday Ever" - last year, praying for hours as the sun rose over the Sea of Galilee...</p>

<p>Yeah, that was an amazing place to awaken to a new year. I was baptized that day in the River Jordan, spent the evening under the moon and stars talking and singing with friends. The world was indeed made new, and I was new in it.</p>

<p>It's been a long, lovely, sometimes searing, sometimes boundless, sometimes crazy, sometimes gentle, and always deepening road since. Many times back and forth across the great expanse of ocean, the gentle curve of earth. Mile and miles deeper into my own mystery of the "I am that I am," unfolding.</p>

<p>Sometimes it is so hard not to get stuck to, stuck in, those rarified moments.</p>

<p>The comparison draws me into this moment, and as I drop into the IS-ness of now, I recognize a gentler newness that holds me. I breath in, and come gratefully present in this life. My life. The one I am waking up in now. The life I will greet as I open my eyes to the first day of my 38th year - in this body, on this planet.</p>

<p>This is now; my man and kids are in the kitchen, listening to funk and making brownies for Grandparent's Day at the kids' school. I sit and listen.</p>

<p>Even in the moments where part of my heart is trapped in memories, good or bad, I am held - gently, freely, strongly, truly - here.</p>

<p>My birthday has been, for years, an inconstant pleasure. The tendency to measure myself against some internalized list of "to-do" creeps in through some hidden door. The weights and balances merge and diverge, coalesce and transform.</p>

<p>And I remind myself, last year I spent the morning of my birthday greeting the sun over the Sea of Galilee. Tomorrow I will greet the day gazing into the eyes of my beloved.</p>

<p>And, after saying a silent prayer of gratitude for all I have been, all I have seen, all I have known, all I have done, I will get the kids ready for school and move into the new day, and my new year, as it unfolds.</p>

<p>Gratefully yours, from my heart to yours, thank you for being part of this amazing life.</p>
