It’s August. Life just keeps keeping on! I can hardly believe that this year is nearly three-fourths through. Things have been really great for me in the past few weeks. I’m back out in the world, and the sunshine and breezes feel good on my face. And yes, even the rain feels good. (And rain there was at Starwood!.) Things have really picked up for me. Sexy Witch was written up in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, a major newspaper in Frankfurt, Germany. The article was great. The author of the article, Dietmar Dath, got my impetus behind Sexy Witch in a way I haven’t seen in the American press get it yet. He wasn’t afraid to make the jump to the political aspect. Yeah! Now that’s rewarding. And, even more good news; Sexy Witch is a bestseller at Buch Deutschland! And it’s not even translated into German. Yet? Luckily I heard about the article from a German “Sex Hexe” fan (Thanks, Thomas!!!!) while I was hanging out with my old buddy Mike Sensei, whose first language is German. Meine Deutsch sprache was a little too rusty to get the full impact. So, thanks to Mike, too, for translating this article for me! My workshops were well-received, I did a bunch of consultations, and got to hang out with an assortment of lovely folks as usual, including Sheri Winston, Christopher Penczac, Amy Wilde, and the wonderful folks from Niagara Voodoo Shrine. The absolute pinnacle of my Starwood experience, though, was a session I received from Phil Farber. The modalities he employed were a fluid mix of NLP techniques and hypnosis. It was amazing in the moment, and the results are still being integrated. It was some BIG work, and I look intensely forward to working with him again. THANKS! You all bring the invaluable gift of ease to my life! Goddess Gather Check-In Goddess Gather was amazing, and just gets better every year. You won’t be hearing much about the content of the event here as it’s women’s mysteries, but maidens, mothers and crones should certainly check it out! The events was booked to capacity with somewhere around 55 women and 15 maidens and wee ones in attendance. I had the pleasure of working with some new material in my workshop which was fun and intriguing for me, and by all accounts very effective for the other participants. Literary Stuff: Creating Circles & Ceremonies, edited by Oberon and Morning Glory Zell-Ravenheart and published by New Page Books, is available now. I just received my contributor’s copy in the mail, and it’s lovely. Creating Circles truly includes “rituals for all seasons and reasons,” just as it says on the cover. In addition to two ritual offerings by yours truly, I also wrote the foreword. What an honor to have been asked! The book is really nicely done, with so much of Oberon’s style inherent that it’s homey to those of us who have seen his stuff all of our lives. Almost like picking up an old mimeographed copy of Green Egg Magazine. Although the production values are a lot higher here! Dr. Roger Hock’s textbook on Human Sexuality will be out October 1. The textbook includes pieces by me. (Not sure which ones made the final cut yet, but I will let you know when I do!) In The Media: Some of you saw me on HBO recently, on Penn and Teller: Bullshit!, to be exact. My appearance wasn’t very impressive, but at least my site is linked on the HBO website! And apparently, Sexcetra was showing reruns of the episode that was filmed at the River House a while back all through the month of July.
