Human love is so frail
Your love is divine
You are the one I seek to touch
The core within the often impenetrable shell
of humanity
Your heart shines bright
when there are no guards up
and spills over when let to spill
Fear blocks Your countenance
I fall into "because"
and am damned for a dog
walking silent, darkened streets
starving for light
cold
an hungered
Let Her work Her works of wickedness
Let her kill Her heart
Let Her be loud and adulterous
Let Her be shameless before men.
Let my chest explode
With Divine Love
Let my Sacred Heart
Burst into flame
I long to burn
eternally
in this all-consuming fire
These petty thoughts are nothing
these fears as shadows
I cower to phantoms
When I could easily stand in the light
Of eternal glory.

Help

Powerful, moving. The story you tell is common. I recognize it.
Thank you, Raymond. I am working with somewhat traditional formats for devotional writings. Though thte core will not cahnge, this piece needs a little work. I’ll post the rewrite once it’s done.
Good job (as is).
